El84 current draw. Is that something I should hold to, or in the guitar amp world bump it up bit? The reason I ask is The other el84 amp I have which is the 70s Traynor YGM is probably the best EL84 amp I’ve played that has been modified with different coupling caps and presence cap and it only sounds nasally at much lower volumes. Use an overdrive to get an overdriven sound and the amp to do the lifting. (since they are parallel EL84's that actually seems a tad light, but it sounds pretty good) What made a real sound difference was the first preamp stage.
